Are You Doing What You Love?

Hello,
I have been blessed to meet a few people who do what they are passionate about. Whenever the topic of followng passion is mentioned, people immediately think of the arts - music, dance, acting, painting. As though they are the only things that require passion. Mind you I have met a few people that are passionate about banking, law, engineering or medicine.
Unfortunately in my part of the world, it's not reputable, lucrative, honourable to say, "I'm passionate about acting or painting and I want to do it as a career". You are likely to get a family meeting all for you.
Sadly,  however, there are many who are in the supposed"reputable" careers that don't have any love for it. They have become square pegs in round holes. And they are usually the problems we have in those institutions.
People in politics who don't have love for governance. People in the classroom who have no passion for teaching or impacting. People in the hospitals who have neither care nor patience for invalids . People in the acting field that love fame more than the impact of films. People in the banks that don't love numbers.
The pressure to survive. Somehow anyhow can be a reason to not follow passion. I believe that a man's gift will make room for him and believe me your purpose will give you your place on this earth. Money cannot be all we live for.
So I ask you, 'are you doing what you love?' if not why?

Talk is Cheap

July 4, 2018.  Dear Mr. President, With regard to recent happenings; from the flood that broke our hearts by taking our Dr. Aya to the shocking loss of our Vice President, I have decided to stop talking or asking "what is wrong with us?" Now I'm asking "what can I/we do?"  I cannot wait for government. The government shouldn't be telling us not to drop the water sachets on the streets. Every time I walk/drive through Lapaz and its environs, I'm ashamed at the filth that sits comfortably on the streets and sidewalks and shocked at the lack of concern shown by the citizens who eke out a living on the streets of Lapaz.  One Monday, I saw a truck collecting a heap of rubbish from the pavements. And to my shock, just a day later, at the same place, I saw another heap of rubbish! There is absolutely no sense of responsibility. I have come to the sad conclusion that we have no LOVE and RESPECT for our own selves - that is what's wrong with us

On the Field.

About fifty children stiring dust, Running. Shouting. Screaming after a ball. Little legs swinging, Hoping to touch a flying ball. One throws his right leg; The ball walks past him, his feet run after it. Another takes the ball, runs away with it To a place he can freely hit it. Soon he is surrounded by many legs Like ants who chance on sugar. He hits the ball and runs after it To have a second hit but Someone cuts him from behind. The girls, amidst the running boys, Interrupting their game with their cries, "Oh...let me play some". The ball leaves them to the side of the field Where one boy is seated waiting For the ball to come to him. He takes the ball to the pole Where the keeper is too small for his post. He fixes the ball for a strike, Too late, Supporters and opposers attack him. The leg that hits the ball sends it High into the sky, all eyes follow. Before it hits the ground, The bell rings.
